Fall temperatures are slowly creeping into our corner of the Rockies. Soon golden leaves will be ground into dust below our feet and white flakes will fall, blanketing the landscape. It's likely last year's snowboot won't fit your child this season! Depending on age, a child's foot grows an average of a half size every 3-5 months. Other than insulation, what makes boots warm is a bit of extra space for air to circulate around the foot; also you need extra room not only for growth but to accomodate a wool sock. We stock a myriad of brands, styles, and colors and are sure to have a boot to fit your specific needs. First time buying snow boots for your baby or just needing a new size for this year's cold weather? All options in our store are waterproof top to bottom, though not all are rated boots. Read on to learn about different types and their specific advantages.
For little guys just learning to walk or new to walking, we have several different options to keep their feet warm and toasty this winter. We now carry booties from Stonz! These fleece lined, wind resistant sheaths slip over the top of their every day shoe - or just their socked foot - to provide warmth and coverage. This is recommended for a baby not yet walking or just beginning to take steps. From Bogs, we carry many colors for both boys and girls in the baby Classic style. These water proof boots are rated to 14° and are very easy to pull onto the foot. With flexibility, insulation, and anti-odor technology, these are among the most popular in the store. The Tundra Outback laces shut at the top, making it a great choice for the little guys who will be out playing in the snow. Kamik is another great option for babies and toddlers alike. The Snowbug and Prancer are synthetic fur lined for comfortability and warmth. These open wide at the top, making them easy to get on and off, and close with a velcro strap: Snowbug, and bungee lace: Prancer. These are rated to -10° and -25° respectively, making them the warmest option.
Once out of the toddler and baby sizes, your kids have a plethora of warm options from various brands! We proudly carry many styles from Kamik, a Canadian company who makes their products in the United States. This company has patented their own rubber, which is 50% lighter than natural rubber, recyclable, and PVC-free. From this brand, the Fleet closes shut with a bungee lace, is lined with synthetic fur, and is rated to -25°. The Snowbank is among the most popular, with velcro and bungee closures, a -40° rating, and a removable liner. This liner is made from two different kinds of polyester - one which wicks away sweat, and one which traps in heat. Similar to the style of Bogs, the Bluster from Kamik has handles at the top and no closure mechanism, making it incredibly easy to put on. Rated to -22°, these have an actual plastic handle attached to the boot, whereas the Bogs boots have a hole at the top of the boot shaped like a handle. Bogs Classic is insulated to -30°, and is among the easiest for the kids to slide on and off. Also from Bogs is the North Hampton; this boot is rated to 5°. Less insulation means lighter-weight, which can make this boot easier to run and play in compared to the Classic. These two styles have anti-odor technology as well as non-marking and self cleaning outsoles. If a more traditonal boot is your style, we carry the Pac, Joan of Arctic, and Tofino from Sorel with ratings of -40°. These have removable liners and either bungee, velcro, or tie closures. We stock a few options from Tundra, which are made in Canada; velcro closures in two places on the boot make these a solid choice for real snow play. Sometimes the best option is one less bulky and heavy - one that doesn't have to be taken off in the classroom and can be worn throughout the day. If this is your preference, we have several great choices from Jambu and Keen! These are fully waterproof, but lighter and not as high up the leg as some of our other selections. Each close with either a bungee lace or a velcro straps and have non-marking outsoles.
Right now, our snowboot selection is fully stocked with lots of choices in each size from smallest carried to biggest. Come in soon for best availability and greatest amount of options!

We are happy to donate new shoes from our inventory to Clothes to Kids of Denver, Inc! Their mission is to provide new and quality used clothing to school-age students from low-income or in-crisis families in the Denver Metro Area, free of charge. Over 79,000 kids attending Denver county schools are are living at or below poverty level. Their website lists qualifications necessary to receive aid and how to set an appointment at CTKD. They are always accepting donations, and the CTKD shop is almost entirely volunteer operated, so a donation of time is an essential component in allowing them to provide clothing to children in our community. It is the goal of CTKD to provide each eligible child with a week’s worth of clothing, including a jacket and pair of shoes. So far this year, we have donated nearly 100 pairs of new shoes to this great organization.
Available for purchase at Little Feet are stationary cards from Art by Adelyn! A customer of ours, this plucky little 8 year old has created cards to raise money for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Children's Hospital Colorado. The NICU treats nearly 1000 infants each year from Denver, surrounding areas in Colorado, and a 10-state area. As part of the Colorado Institute for Maternal and Fetal Health, it is the only NICU in the region with the experience and technology to treat virtually any medical condition affecting newborns. When you purchase cards made by Addy, 100% of the proceeds are given to the care of babies with dire health needs.
September means back to school, and that means new sneakers! Here at Little Feet we carry the best assortment of athletic shoes you will find anywhere in the Denver area! We carry dozens of the highest quality brands available for children, and our selection is excellently stocked. A question we are often asked is Why are quality shoes important? It's important to avoid any shoe that is plastic or hard soled. Quality materials like leather, canvas, and mesh are durable, breathable and flexible to stretch and soften with wear. Especially for kids that don't like socks (and we know MANY like this), shoes with a leather insole or machine washable shoes are the best way to go. Proper children's shoes will include a well defined heel counter, a well structured base, quality cushioning, flexibility, and durability!
Here is just a taste of our extensive selection!
Now that school is full swing for most of the districts in and around town, have you gotten your kids' feet fit into a few new pairs of shoes? Even if they haven't outgrown their current pair, if the structure of the shoe has been broken down, it's a good idea to put them into a new pair. A shoe devoid of proper support can hurt not only their feet but their whole bodies as well. We know many school require their kids to wear dress shoes - and we also know they still need to be able to run and play because, well, they're kids! Maybe you only have the budget for one pair, so you need them to meet the tall order of dress shoe and play shoe; one that will stand up to our often unpredictable Autumn weather! Snow season is closing in, but it's always difficult to predict how far into Autumn the cold will hit; we stock many great options that can be used both in early and late fall. Read on to find some great options for what I like to call "Colorado Dress Shoes."
In from Keen we have a few great new options! The Tobias comes in both navy/gray and brown/tan. With water resistent leathers, a great rubber toe cap, and a dressy outer; wear them with jeans, shorts, or khakis! Another popular favorite is the Austin, which comes in brown and black. Sizes for the little guys have a velcro strap, and laces for the bigger sizes. For girls, the Tris will be a big hit this year! This is an ankle boot with water resistent leather and a sparkly pink sole! We had many requests last year for the Coronado, so this season we stocked it in red, jean blue, and turqoise!
Bobux is a huge favorite for many reasons, and shoes from this brand range from size 18-29. Their shapes are anatomically correct for your child's developing feet at each stage of walking. Out of New Zealand, Bobux has developed a European style, and all shoes are composed of high quality leather inner and outer. This makes their shoes an excellent choice for both summer and winter wear. These can be weather proofed for rain, snow, and slush. Feet will not sweat as much, compared to shoes with cloth lining, and - with the absense of mesh - these are among the warmest of choices for winter in the Rockies.
Among other excellent options are low top and high top sneakers from Plae, boots and mary-janes from Kio Trend and Geox, and some great Jambu mary-janes, hiking shoes, lined slip ons, and so much more! Stop in soon to have your kids test out these great shoes!
Summer seems like it came went quicker this year than ever before! Back to school season is already here, and Little Feet is receiving new shipments almost daily. Among our favorites so far is updated stock from Umi shoes. To date we have gotten one of our three shipments for the season.
When it comes to quality, Umi doesn’t cut corners. They use soft drum-dyed leathers, non-toxic, environmentally friendly natural materials, and their packaging is 100% recycled material. Each design is extensively tested for durability and safety. All UmiBaby shoes are APMA certified and use a patented, removable anti-bacterial herbal footbed to keep feet dry and healthy. They have engineered an insole with patented UmiCloud Tech memory foam; shoes with these insoles are crafted to cushion and protect feet where they need it and for flexibility everywhere else.
In stock, we currently have selections of school shoes for both boys and girls, sandals for girls, and some great first walker selections. Check our "What's New" pages for pictures of these items. Other popular footwear not listed on these pages include the Cassia and Wheelie first walkers and Morraine and Morie penny loafers. These styles are stocked in many different colors!
